The Shepherdess

The Plaza La Pastora, its church and parish, without a doubt, are part of the cultural heritage of the city. This complex takes us back to the Colonial era, where horses, mules and donkeys loaded with merchandise and people in transit used to pass through. Throughout its history, this parish has been the cradle and home of painters and artists such as Arturo Michelena. 💡Curiosities: Its church was built in 1740, when Father José Salvador Bello, requested the Governor and Captain General to erect a chapel in honor of the Virgin under the invocation of the Divine Shepherdess of souls.
